Carer support grants
We are delighted to announce a special initiative to support presenters at FUSION17 who may require assistance with their caring responsibilities. This is made possible due to support from the Director of the Research School of Physics and Engineering (RSPE) at the Australian National University. To our knowledge this is a first for the FUSION series. The local organizing committee is very grateful to the RSPE Director, Professor Tim Senden, for supporting this initiative.
A limited number of carer assistance grants are available up to A$155/day (up to A$850 maximum for the week of FUSION17) to pay a qualified child care provider in Hobart while the parent is attending the FUSION17 conference and related events. Reimbursements can only be made on production of receipts or tax invoice.
If the participant is bringing an accompanying person to care for young children while the parent is attending FUSION17 conference then a grant of up to A$600 can be used towards the airfare of the child or care provider. Reimbursements can only be made on production of receipts or tax invoice.
If you wish to apply for this support then please send your request with a brief justification to fusion17@anu.edu.au
The decision on award of the grant will be made by the local organising committee, depending on need, on a case by case basis.
